Pumpkin for all Seasons

Just because fall is over, doesn’t mean we need to eliminate one of the most beloved fall products from the rest of our seasons!  The intoxicating smell of pumpkin is a coveted scent for fall – whether it’s scented candles, lattes, pies, cookies, or fragrant room sprays, there is just something about that spicy sweet scent that we all love.

Besides desserts and home-fragrances, pumpkin can also be used to treat your skin!  Fresh pumpkin includes a number of beneficial ingredients including: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium, beta-carotene, and zinc.  These nutrients work to protect and nourish your skin.  It’s a soothing moisturizing ingredient, has healing and anti-aging properties, and also contains vitamin E and vitamin T, which are acne fighting ingredients, which help with breakouts and inflammation.

Alpha hydroxy acids helps to eliminate any dead skin, and refresh your complexion for a radiant glow, while antioxidants such as beta carotene fights off free-radicals to eliminate potential sun damage.  Other active ingredients in pumpkin can help to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, hydrate your skin, and boost the production of collagen, which helps to keep skin firm, and prevent signs of aging.

Because of pumpkins invigorating and stimulating effect, it’s not just known for it’s skin benefits, but also physical and mental benefits.  Alpha and beta-carotene help boost your immune system so your body can fight off infections, while omega-3 fatty acid is an ultimate brain-food ingredient said to reduce, or prevent, depression and memory loss.

The enzymes and extracts from pumpkin help to get rid of dead skin cells, and allow new, healthy skin cells to generate.  This is where GloTherapeutics’ Pumpkin Enzyme Scrub comes in.  This rich scrub uses granules and enyzmes to remove dirt and impurities, including ridding skin of dead skin cells, so that new cells can regenerate.  This powerful scrub is still gentle enough to use 2-4 times a week, and doesn’t leave skin red or irritated.  Just massage a small amount into dampened skin, leave on for 5-10 minutes, and rinse off to reveal fresh, rejuvenated skin.

Check out the active ingredients that this little scrub has – it packs a punch!
